Baofeng UV-5G Mic - Convert from shoulder/belt clip to button clip or another mic that can work on this model which has the button.

Hello everyone. I have a pretty basic question. Does anyone know of how to convert a Baofeng mic from should/belt clip to a button style that works on a hang clip? Or even better a mic that will work on the Baofeng that already has the button style for the hang clip.

It seems my google foo is weak this weekend or one does not exist for these?

Thanks,

Glen

HOW to fit it to your microphone is not answerable but...

Many years ago I had a few adhesive type buttons. They came with plastic [box shaped] holders. I used to use one of the boxes, with a button on my cell phone, on the dash of my old Jeep, and a second box below that with the microphone for my FT-100.

I'd have to dig out the baofeng mic to say for sure, but if I remember right it's a metal circlip that holds the belt clip on the center pin. If you can get that out, you should be able to open up the mic, remove the center pin, and screw a replacement hanger button in its place ( 'microphone hanger button' would be a good term to search for options)
