Duck218
Thank you for sharing this. I'm new to GMRS and looking to learn more about the system and how is working in the area.
Darryl42
Thank you for putting up this repeater and allowing me access. I was able to connect and listened in to some of the Monday NET. I couldn't stay long, but for the most part is was coming in loud and clear here in Cedar Mill. I switched antennas on my Baofeng UV-9G to a Btech packaged Nagoya GMRS tuned antenna and it works much better than the stock one. ClassicCarGuy
Thread resurrection on Lake Oswego. Are you currently having check-in LAK17R on certain days? Thanks
flashover52
Thread resurrection on Lake Oswego. Are you currently having check-in LAK17R on certain days? ThanksYes, we have been running a weekly net on Mondays at 7:00 pm since April of 2022 (excluding holidays). I have over 300 people now on the master log but generally it averages about 15-18 folks with a high over 30 checking in on one night from all over the metro region.Depending on the net control operator or day, there may be a short message passing exercise or we may do some simplex tests within the city during the net. However, we welcome anyone to check in by following the net control operators instructions. ClassicCarGuy

I was monitoring a few months ago on a hand held. I'll probably setup my small base station so I could connect better. I bought a J-pole last year. It seems alot easier and friendlier to install than my old CB antenna. I'm gonna try to install it this coming days. I havent really use the GMRS alot. I'm practically new to the radio. But this radio will surely come in handy in case of emergencies.. Socalgmrs
flashover52
It will all be terrain specific. There are areas in both Sherwood and Newberg with good signals and areas with no signals. Sherwood HS is an area fine with a handheld. There is a guy up pretty high in Newberg that uses a handheld while someone else I know can’t get in from Newberg with a high gain base antenna at 20’ due to a couple of large peaks.Good luck!
