WRWE204 Posted March 22, 2023 Report Posted March 22, 2023 I'm pretty new here but I am trying to use my local mrs repeater to see if my radios work. All of them are connected and will transmit to the repeater, however they don't pick my transmission up when I'm transmitting on one and listening on the others. Someone on the net said that its a possibility that since the radios are in the same room and that there's no distance between them that it may not work and I need to put some distance between the radios and try again to see if they work the way they should. Currently using crap baofeng uv9g's (Also could be the problem) looking to upgrade to some Wouxun KG-UV9Gx's Quote
wayoverthere Posted March 22, 2023 Report Posted March 22, 2023 That's absolutely possible/probable that the nearby signal from one radio is causing the other to desense enough not to receive audio. I've seen it with as little as 1/2 a watt from a Midland gxt causing the baofeng uv5r go completely "deaf" to incoming audio on simplex. It lit up like it was receiving, but no audio. If this is the case, some distance between them will help kmcdonaugh and WRHS218 2 Quote
