True to what was said in another post you CAN program the radio in CHIRP Legacy using the KG-816 listing BUT you don't see any Settings. Not that it's much of an issue since they're are very few settings to actually set. Added the CTCSS tones to the 3 local repeaters and added my DPS/Highway Patrol channels and set them to Rx only. Also, set all the GMRS channels to "skip" so when I scan I'll only get the DPS channels. All in all at first impression I'd say for an $80 dollar GMRS/UHF Only radio that's a SuperHet it's a pretty good deal. Especially if you're looking for something simple that's just for the GMRS channels.
P.S.
The only negative I can think of by this radio being UHF only is no VHF NOAA Weather Radio.
