Wouxun KG-905G Software and programming.

I just got my 905G.  Nice radio.  Reading he manual though, it says you need programming software and a cable to add channels, delete channels, ect.  I went to Wouxun's site and I cannot find any software for the 905G to download.  Do they still have software for this?  Also, do I need Wouxun's cable, or can I use an off brand?

Click on "Downloads".

The Wouxun cable is (IMHO) a step above many of the other K-type cables, but looks like it is sold out.  You should be able to use a different one.

Thanks for the replies.  I did in fact find two-way radios and the download. But my question did get answered here about the cable.  Question though. What is the default code plug download about?

Why not get the Wouxun cable then there is no question. Not sure about the code plug.

It's just a typical "Baofeng" k-type programming cable.  This one should work fine:

Or go to Amazon and search for "Wouxun programming cable" and you'll find lots of alternatives.  You just have to be cautious because some of the cheap programming cables use counterfeit chips and won't work on Windows 10 or 11.

I ended up going with the MIRKIT FTDI cable.  It listed the brands it worked with- to include Baofeng and Wuoxun. It was one of the more expensive ones.   We shall see how it plays out....

I have the FEANTEEK FTDI chip cable and it works pretty well too. IIRC it was around $15 bucks.
