TIDRADIO H8 GMRS

New to GMRS and my TIDRADIO H8 GMRS.  When putting in a repeater does it matter what channel number I pick from that are open on my Radio?  When the repeater requires a tone to be put in what field does that go in if you are putting data in with ODMaster? Do they go in the Decode(RX) and Encode(RX) locations? I have only tried putting in a repeater through the ODMaster App. Haven't tried doing it using the radio itself.  Thanks for any help and information you can provide. Thanks again

If it came with the GMRS channels pre-loaded as it should… then channels 1-30 should already be in. The last 8 of those are repeater channels.

You can add tones to those for nearby repeaters if you want, or keep them as default open (no tone) channels and add specific repeater channels (with the proper frequencies) after that (basically duplicating one of the repeater channels with the +5mhz transmit offset) but you can name it as that specific repeater and add the proper input tone (TX tone) for that specific repeater.

And yes the tx decode and  rx decode are where you enter any transmit or receive tones to use with the repeater.

Tx encode and Rx decode more specifically.  At least that's how it's listed on my repeater.
