Antenna Question

PuddlePirate

Question

I am currently using a Comet-712efc 460-470mhhz antenna mounted 30' high.  I would like to mount my Tram 1477B to monitor 144-148/430-460mhz on a kg1000g+.

1. How far apart would the antennas need to be (No TX on Tram)

2. Would an antenna splitter w/ separate coax to each antenna work or would I need a switch with the separate coax.

Thx

1. Some say 60’ some say 20’ and some say just have it and a different height.

2 yes a splitter will work just fine.
I run 2 radios and one antenna (comet 712efc.) 1 radio that is more powerful and only transmits on one repeater channel and 1 radio that has all the other gmrs and repeaters as well I can manually input what ever else I need

3.not on your list  I listen to murs and other uhf and vhf frequencies all the time with no issues on my 712   It hears everything   Just isn’t good for the radio to transmit out side of the antennas tune

I have a 25' lmr400 coax I'll hook that up to my Tram and have my wife stand on the roof and see if that works😁 Thx for the info
