Radioddity Scan Features Question

WSFJ540

Question

Recently obtained my GMRS license 🙌 and purchased a Radioddity GM-30 Plus radio.  It's been great learning about GMRS and specifically how to program the radio.  One thing I can't sort out is how to configure the scanning for a specific set of channels.  I noticed in the Channel configuration there is an option to select SCAN ADD but I don't really understand what that actually does.  I've enabled it on two separate channels and then enabled scan mode, but it still scans all of the programmed channels.  What am I missing here?

Are you programming on a computer?  If not you really should its 10millon  times easier to do this type of thing.

Funny that - I just ordered the cable and will check out the options once it arrives.  Do you use Chirp or the native Radioddity software?

There’s a scan group. Go to a channel and hit SCAN ADD then select On or Off. You can add memory channels to it or take them out of it.  Then, whenever you scan, the ones that say “On” will be scanned and the ones set to “Off” won’t be.

I think I tried that and didn't see any difference in the scan behavior, but I'll try it again.  I wish Radioddity had a Mac version of their software, or if the Chirp software would work, but sadly neither of those are a reality...
