Question

On my Radioddity DB20-g I have switched between V/M many times without any issues, but today the V/M button just beeps at me and doesn't switch out of Memory mode.  Not sure if I mistakenly changed something in the Functions menu or something else.  Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestion on how to get back into VFO mode?

Push the FUN button to enter the Menu Mode

Use the V/M (Up) and MAN (Down) buttons to go to Menu Item #29: DSPCHANNEL

Use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow buttons to change your setting from "CH" to either "NAME" or "FREQ" as you desire

Push the FUN bottom to exit the Menu Mode

A radio ditty with an issue?   Really? No way?    And people keep telling me I dont have any clue when I say these things stink.   I’ve never had a radio with any of the recently reported problems with these junkers.  I’m mean any one that reads this forum for 10 minutes can see all the issues with these radios.

Honestly, that's a funny response.  It turned out to be a ID10T error instead of a radio issue.  And seriously, this is an $80 radio that seems to work perfectly so far...  Haters gotta hate I guess.  😂

That only controls what is displayed on the screen; The channel name or the frequency of the channel.  I am trying to switch to VFO mode so I can enter in a specific frequency, which the DB20-G isn't allowing.

Did you try it?

Are you in GMRS mode, or have you "opened" your DB20-G?  I may have to return mine to GMRS mode to duplicate your efforts if that is your mode.

Wow, I didn't try it before but just did it now and it did work.  So basically the radio won't let me change to VFO mode if I have it set to display the Name instead of the frequency?  If so that is really odd, but oh well, it is an $80 radio...  Yes, I opened up mine to full transmit mode.

What's odd here is that there are three options: NAME, FREQ, and CH.  And the VFO doesn't work when the CH is selected.  No idea what that's about but hey, thanks for setting me straight and getting things working.

My consulting fee doubles when you do NOT try out my advice before questioning its efficacy!

BTW: In the future, I just HATE this Technical Discussion thread that lists responses by Votes and YES, I know I can select by Date; but I am not here to win a popularity contest (and I frequently DON'T).  So for MY advice in the future, especially for the DB20-G, please avoid these Vote threads...

If it was easy, I would have no reason for living!?! 🤣
