TDM827 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 I don't have a Baofeng, but there are tons of how to videos on YouTube on how to use them. I am sure you will get some great info here as well. Best of Luck. WSHG974 and SteveShannon 2 Quote
OffRoaderX Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Select the correct repeater channel which in this case would be REPEATER Channel 22 Go into the menus and find the TX DPL/DTC setting and select 365 from the list Ignore the RX/Output tone for now as it is optional and you are already confused enough That's it - should take a total of about 20 seconds. I found this random video on Youtube that explains step by step exactly what you want to do using a UV-5GPlus: amaff, SteveShannon and WSHG974 3 Quote

Also, you have to ensure that you are close enough to the repeater to actually activate/use it - just because you can hear it does not mean it can hear you. SteveShannon and WSHG974 2 Quote

TDM827 Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Are you using a programming cable or trying to program through the radio itself. For my Radioddity GS-5B both computer and blue tooth programing are pretty intuitive and easy to figure out. Not sure if the GM-30 is blue tooth capable, but they do offer programming cables. As OffRoaderX brought up. It sounds pretty basic, but is your repeater fairly close? Sometimes hitting a repeater from a handheld can be a challenge especially from inside your house. Thanks in advance WSHG974 Hi Channel 28 is preprogrammed for that frequency, just configure the following Input tone - menu item 12 (T-CTCSS) Output tone - menu item 10 (R-CTCSS) You may also do it via software Input tone - TX CTS Output tone - RX CTS SteveShannon 1 Quote
