Accessing a repeater with my Wouxon KG-935+

Question

Posted

So, I'm trying to program my radio to access a local repeater.  The frequency of the repeater happens to be 462.600000 with a TX-CTCSS at 141.3.

On my radio, which repeater channel do I use?  I'm thinking RPT-17 (which also shows a smaller CH-25 in the upper right hand side of the screen).  Is this correct?  Is there a way to see the TX Frequencies for the RPT channels on the Wouxon KG-935+?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

RPT-17 aka Ch-25 is correct. I would recommend following the instructions for channel Wizard, this makes it incredibly easy. Page 90 with step by step instructions beginning on page 92.
you can also set up in Chirp

oh yeah socal never has anything nice to say to anyone so feel free to ignore him.

Honestly, just add it as a new channel. Enter the frequency, make the offset "plus", and add the tone to CTCSS TX/RX. I personally like to use T-SQL for the Tone mode so I hear just that repeater on that channel. Program this through the CPS is easiest. Otherwise with the 935G+ you have, you can use the channel wizard. If you don't know how to use that, maybe search youtube for a tutorial. I am pretty sure I saw one at one point in time.

And to see frequencies, you need to change the channel mode to CH+Freq in the settings. Again, easily done in the CPS.

You’re gonna need to learn what frequencies relate to what “channels”.   The radio should have come with a chart.  When you purchased your license from the fcc you did say you read and understood the gmrs rules.  If you did read the rules you said you did, you would know what channels relate to what’s frequencies.  You can also do an internet search of gmrs frequencies      I’d also highly recommend you program on a computer it’s waaay easier.
