That shouldn't be a problem. There are all sorts of ways to do that. Take a GMRS mobile, tap into the audio out port, run the audio through an amp onto a speaker horn. Simple basic manipulation of electrons that an engineer should be able to easily make happen. Let know how that turns out.

amaff started following PA System and Free program to unzip Retevis program?
-
What OS are you using? Because, yeah, what @SteveShannon said. Pretty much any OS has an on-board program to deal with zip files natively.
-
No. Not to parrot someone who has thankfully moved along but when you submitted your application to the FCC you “signed” saying that you understood and agreed to obey the rules. Lying there is also punishable, perhaps even more easily than noncompliance with the rules.
-
I believe in order to be a "rule breaker" you first need to know the rules, otherwise you're just ignorant. I like all your input and discussions on the matter so I can make informed decisions if I want to "break the rules" or remain ignorant. I see some value to breaking rules because some FCC rules are limiting and may impede ones ability to reach a contact. But I guess if you don't understand what your transmissions are doing or capable of doing (interfering with emergency radios, etc...) someone should school you. Another thought is how could FCC enforce any GMRS when you only have to pay $35 for a "license" without a general knowledge test. A drivers license requires a general knowledge test. Could ignorance possibly be a defense from any FCC enforcement actions since no one required you to know to even get the license in first place? I'm pretty sure in the eyes of the law, ignorance is not a defense but could this why enforcement is so low?

Free program to unzip Retevis program?
SteveShannon replied to Mrsig's question in Technical Discussion
ZIP files can be unzipped within any modern operating system. In windows simply right click on the zip file and drag slightly and then choose expand or expand to folder. -
Dose any one have a Free program to unzip Retevis Software & Firmware for the RT97L?
- Today

Meanwhile,, i just took a peek in by radio cabnet where dozens of radios sit. Some of us are hyper-focused behind closed doors

Okay, good point. My DB25-G has a jack for a headset. Perhaps some bubble gum and bailing wire could somehow make that work.
-
Having watched the video, he definitely seems like a nice guy who probably just got a little hyperfocused on the things in life that he can control while other things might have been spinning out of control. Impressive, sad, brilliant, messed up. Doc from Back to the Future lives in southern California, I guess. But on the other hand, did you notice that despite the appearance of everything in shambles, his tires were in good shape? That's not a pavement princess / mall crawl vehicle. He maintains what's important to keep mobile and on the air, and lets the rest go.
-
I remember that PA in my old PACE radio... Almost had as much fun plying the PA then on the CB
-
What would you need a Jeep for? In most communities it is illegal to drive off the pavement. See how that reads?
-
gotta love the guys dedication.

They nearly all do for reception, but they don’t allow you to send your own amplified voice to the speaker.
-
yeah but that's a pretty different function than a PA, where you're talking into the mic and the same unit is outputting the audio, but louder.

I think we can now agree that the dangers of RF exposure are real.
-
yiou mean it's REAL.. All along i thought it was a Photo Chopped Picture
-
Don't many mobile radios have an audio out port for an external speaker?
-
was the police report submitted to the fcc?
-
that's been done, over and over.. two years ago the guy was using some pretty narly fowl language telling two kids to get off his Parrot Channel on Ch. 3 The kids parents called the police and they actually went to his door and talked with him (Ron).. It didn't do any good. Seriously, this guy is not all together 'up there'.. His favorite past time is jamming local GMRS repeaters, the main reason i installed a remote shut down.. Every once in awile he gets on HAM bands and makes farting/belching noises.. Everyone knows who he is and where he is but nothing ever touches him...

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the dedication to insanity and unfettered IDGAF displayed in this photo? And now that we've gotten a moment of awe out of the way, what are those antennas, even? Edit: FOUND HIM! https://youtu.be/SKI1W01OelU?si=i9Z5MfgNuvs-4Yib

Well, the right thing to do is tell the FCC over and over.
-
yup,, thats been done,, Talk is cheap and Guido & Vinny don't do things the way they used to
