You are correct sir.. We try to get up to Garlock/Last Chance Canyon 1 or 2 times a year but we've only been in that area you specified once, 7 or 8 years ago, after checking out The Pinnacles.

Or hoarded by Crown Castle or another monopoly.

Near Ridgecrest, about 3 miles from Hwy 395. 35°33'25.52"N 117°42'14.92"W. I think you hang out further south by Garlock and Randsburg.

Isn't it chaos already when people's posts are being downvoted just because of who they are? IMO, that violates the rules anyway.

Only in your mind. I was commenting on the setting being available in the software. It's there, that's it. I will test it when I feel confident again in Chirp not messing the radio up. You still don't understand that this is different than fully open. Fully opening makes it a non-compliant radio. Just putting in other GMRS frequencies at the appropriate power level does not. But you can't seem to grasp the difference so I'm done with this.

You spelled SUPERStar wrong..

i too would like to know.. if not the exact spot, at least a more generalized location - i'm curious if its one of the areas we ever go to.
-
Duh! Obviously would be because its haunted!

If it is abandoned, one would think there is a legitimate reason why it is abandoned. Abandoned radio towers are not common.

Sounds like one of those weird cults to me. Where did this cult gathering happen? I wanna make sure that I don't get near their Koolaid.

Base Station 50w recommendations with USB-C charge

Pretty much every single 50 watt GMRS or amateur radio is going to pull between 10 and 15 amps on transmit when set to high power. Read the specifications in the manual that came with your radio to be sure. I personally would not want to be pulling a 10 amp draw all of the time on a 10 amp fuse/circuit. -
Thank you much.

Just get a Cat 5 or Cat 6 extension cable: https://a.co/d/fJtoY4p

Base Station 50w recommendations with USB-C charge

thats the way i would do it.. They do have bigger DC Power stations with of course a bigger Price tag. Now remember a decent Lithium battery with relative long aH are very very pricey... Ask me how i know. I have about 1200 aH of Lithium in my RV and that was almost a 10Karot bill. I do power a DC repeater which is like running a LED on that system -

Imagine the chaos if a certain person knew who keeps down voting all of his posts As of now he can only point his finger at everyone on the forum.

I need a straight (not coiled) 3'-5' microphone extension; one end male, the other female. It looks like a Cat 5 plug on the front of the radio, if that helps. Many thanks.

They are to a price point and are bringing in a lot of new interest because they are accessible. All good things

OK, I am hiding until the admin sees this and deletes. You probably forgot that's a prohibited subject here. A bunch of us did and the admin came in and "cleaned things up"

On YouTube he's a star . Around here, he's just another GMRS user.

And secret upvotes as well.

I believe that would not be permitted by the FCC’s interpretation of the regulations.

It was not obvious because my statement is factually correct and yours is, at best, irrelevant! Your making a statement about “features” of the DB20-G in Chirp that you admit you have not even tested! But whether it works or not in Chirp, transmission on Channels 8-14 has been available on the “opened” DB20-G since Day One! No need for testing in Chirp! Furthermore, IMHO, transmitting on Channels 8-14 at 20 watts and/or Wideband FM, is morally reprehensible! The ONLY time one should be doing that, if at all; is if they heard a weak signal on Channels 8-14 requesting EMERGENCY help!
