Successfully completed an en masse copy and paste of all channels from one RT Systems radio app to another. Worked perfectly. The software is totally worth the money.
I might try the CSV method, however the video I watched was impressive and appeared to eliminate the extra step of needing to create a CSV file and uploading.
I just watched a couple of their videos and copy & paste of all channels at once is possible. The software automatically deals with the data field differences, to the extent possible. I'll order and give it a try.
RT Systems looks promising. A couple of questions...
If I had RT Systems software for each radio, is it possible to copy and paste common fields in the app from one radio to another, without having to import via a CSV file?
Will the Wouxun OEM cable that connects the radio to the computer work with the RT Systems software?
The units don’t share file formats.
I like to have both set up with identical channels.
Anyone successfully share channel data without having to cut and paste one at a time?
Not sure why the OP would ask here, rather than an overlanding site, such as expedition portal forum that has a dedicated thread to comms. So many variables to consider before making a recommendation, especially overlanding to where and with who/what.
My bad... question was about using KG-1000G+ and/or KG-935G+ while on the road. Good point regarding having to pause to hear PL tones.
Uniden sits in the house.
Situation: 100+ disparate emergency (primarily fire & EMS, obviously for listening only) repeater frequencies across the 6 disparate counties I spend the most time in. The frequency range is somewhat broad. Will the group scan faster if the frequencies are listed in numerical order? Most likely would not make a differences for a small scan group, however not sure for a large group.
This question became more complicated for my brain (I’m a biological science, not physical science guy). I would also like to mount the face plate to the outside of a Pelican case with the unit on the inside of the case, and concluded I will need A + B magnetic tape (face plate and unit will be separated only by the thickness of the Pelican case wall). Is there a way to test for interference without having to mount all pieces in place? Can I put a roll of A+B tape next to the unit and face plate as a test?
