  1. Thought I would share with our myGMRS community. The Mesa Crest Repeater Club is growing. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Robert WRXX460 for being our 100th Club Member... The Club has reached its first milestone by reaching 100 Club Members. Robert with the help of one of our Club Member's/Club Sponsor NotARubicon. And the graceful donation of radios to the Club from NotARubicon we are able to do what we are doing today. The Club would like to gift you a Wouxun KG-XS20G mobile unit. Thank you for being our 100th Club Member and thank you to NotARubicon for giving us the opportunity to do this.
  2. Thank you. How do you share the page for future post. I haven't been able to figure it out. Still figuring out how to fully use this site.

  7. I could see that happening. But, when you copy and paste the repeaters description and full information, then you are no longer doing this by mistake. This guy literally copied and pasted the repeaters description that was provided on the repeaters original listing.
  8. I am glad I was able to catch this whiten 24 hours of it being listed by that individual. He did respond to the Cease-and-Desist email we sent him. I believe he has unlisted everyone's repeaters he listed as his own. Again, just wanted to share light to those unaware of this happening.
  9. Just want to inform people I guess it's a new trend or something. For those of you that have repeaters listed on myGMRS double check that some else hasn't relisted your repeater as their own. Come to find out just now one individual has done just that. Not just mine but a couple other repeaters as well. Images included.
  10. Email sent. if you don't have an option to request to join. You haven't logged into the forums page. Please click on Existing user sign in. Not the register box.
  11. Just passing along information I received. 11/30/23 Subject: Geomagnetic Storm A strong geomagnetic storm is set to hit Earth Thursday night and Friday. Scientists from the Space Weather Prediction Center have issued a G3 geomagnetic storm alert, which means it is moderately strong. A number of solar flares caught by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Tuesday and Wednesday will bring a number of waves of energy our way, some waves even colliding with each other to intensify before reaching Earth. It takes between one and three days for coronal mass ejections to reach Earth, potentially disrupting satellite and radio service Thursday night and Friday. A coronal mass ejection is when pieces of the sun, including plasma and energy, are projected outwards. Solar ejections do happen rather frequently, but not at this magnitude. Interruptions to high frequency radio communication or even loss of navigation tools for a few minutes or more are possible. But this doesn't typically affect the general public. It is important, though, that power providers are prepared just in case. This may also cause satellite or space operators to recalibrate, as the solar flare can slow down space travel and increase drag. An upside of a geomagnetic storm is what we see in the night sky. Solar plasma particles interact with the magnetosphere, which is the outer layer of Earth's atmosphere responsible for the aurora borealis. As a result, the northern lights may be pretty strong tonight through Canada, in northern New England, and even as far as south as Massachusetts, Illinois and Oregon.

  14. You are just outside of the coverage area.
  15. I can see the confusion. The Mesa Crest repeater was personally funded by my wife and I.
  16. No association with Santiago. The name The Mesa Crest Repeater, comes from its origin. The Mesa from The Mesa Community in the High Desert. And Crest for Crestline for where it will live its live out.
  17. I did expect this. Unfortunately some people have nothing better to do.
  18. We want to apologize to those trying to use The Mesa Crest Repeater. The transmission is being blocked by some individual/s. A complaint has been filed with the FCC.
  19. The Mesa Crest Repeater has a very large footprint. During my distance checks yesterday, we travelled 482 miles to find our footprint. We began our journey in Hesperia, Ca. Where we traveled to Highway 18 in the High Desert. Heading East towards Lucerne Valley. We had coverage on the 18/Old Women Spring Road. We did drop out when we descended over by the painted rocks. That was when we saw the first Johnson Valley Sign. We then proceeded South on Highway 62 towards Palm Springs. There were some areas where there was coverage on 62 Yucca Valley. At the 62 and 10 Freeway we had coverage. Proceeded East into Palm Springs. At the first exit there we had scratchy Signal. We then turned around and headed West on the 10 Freeway. Whitewater, we had coverage. Cabazon coverage. Morongo Casino coverage. Banning, Beaumont coverage. We then headed South on Beaumont BLV/Highway 79. We had coverage driving down the 79, Gilman Hot Springs, San Jacinto into Hemet. We then traveled West on Highway 74, Hemet, Green Acres, Homeland, Romoland and Winchester all had coverage. We then went South on the 215. From Romoland, Menifee, Greer Ranch to the 15 coverage. We then traveled on to the 15 South. From the 215/15 to Temecula, we had coverage. Driving up that hill we had coverage. When you drop behind the mountain coverage lost. We exited Old 395 and headed west in to Bonsall San Diego where we had coverage. This one depends on the elevation you are at in the hills there. We proceeded West on the 76 to the 5. We had some short coverage there. We then proceeded North on the 5 Freeway. We had some coverage there at Camp Pendleton San Diego. In San Clemente we hit a couple spots with coverage. We then exited Highway 1 the Pacific Cost Highway where we traveled Northwest. Coverage doesn't pick up till you get closer to New Port Beach. From there you have coverage into Long Beach. From Long Beach Up to Marina Del Rey, coverage was lost after that point. From there we headed towards the 14, where we traveled into Palmdale. Coverage didn't pick up until we got closer to Phelan. From there we had coverage all the way back to Hesperia. Next Weekend we will be conducting a Repeater Check in the High Desert. Where we will travel the 14 North to Tehachapi and then head East on the 58 where we will check Barstow. We will then travel the 40 East towards Arizona.
