  1. like Gary said 2-3 seconds is farly standard. as for the fan if it can be set themally or on TX only that would be the better option. you extend the life of the fan and if the unit is in a controlled enviorment it doesn't need to be on all the time. both of mine are set at 1.5 sec hang and thermal on the fans. call sign interval is 30 min. I know on the commercial side call sign has to go out at least once an hr most are set to 15 min intervals though.
  2. WOW, I read it wrong. nice score.
  3. who did your TCXO's ? those are good radios just have to check the freq now and then as they tend to drift a little. I know even w/properly aged crystals they needed to be checked annually. I have one in the shop I'm trying to get my boss to dive up. aslo trying to get my hand on these 3 MSF5000's I came across at a site I go to alot.
  4. call me when you get a chance I'll tune it for you. let me know if you need cable too.
  5. make sure you put a meter on that antenna from what I just read they seem to have a history of high SWR on 440 ham bands. I don't know if that will hold true on 460 though. just somthing to keep in mind http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/3378 as a general rule I don't like to exceed 5% of forward power, I prefer to see less that one.
  6. I completly forgot about the 820. I haven't seen one of those in yrs.
  7. look on e-bay for gr300 repeater. there should be a few out thee since they are not narrowbandable. or get a pair of M120's gm300's or alike and youcan make a 2 wire cable to make them a repeater w/o hang time. as for scaleability and upgrading I really don't know what more you can do except for more power or better antenna. talk to Rich about linking machines it can bedone w/o too much effort. hope this point you in the right direction John
