  1. I have an opinion, but it is just that - an opinion. I consider GMRS as super-FCS, not HAM lite. I have no issue with local repeaters, but if you feel the need to "rag chew" with someone four states away, take the test and get your HAM license. But that is just my opinion.
  2. The "bloodline" interpretation works for farms. Often farm families live in different houses within either simplex or repeater range. All three of my sons live within two miles of me, each with their own household. All use my license and identify themselves with my ID + a modifier. This is legal an well within the intent of GMRS.
