  1. So I have the 20inch Signal Stalk I just took some SWR readings and im pretty happy with what I have out the box no modifications. Don't think I'll be needing to make any adjustments So far so good. I like how its not too big of an antenna and it barley noticeable which I Like
  2. Just got the Signal Stalk mounted and so far seems to be working well. Signals coming in strong both uhf and vhf and outbounds. Glad I moved to a nmo mount as the magnet on the nagoya ut72 left a ring on the paint but was able to polish it out. Now to test with swr meter
  3. Awesome … I have a swr meter to check it out will be interesting to see what difference if any from my Nagoya ut72 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’ll be using a Signal stick Signal stalk 20inch 1/4 wave on 2m, 3/4 wave on 70cm. Thanks for your help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. So I bought this mount for the rack but could I just add a ground wire from the mount run it along the rail and ground it to the car somewhere
  6. So I’m getting ready for a setup similar to this on my Toyota Avalon but mine will be attached to bike rack rail across the roof. The antenna will be over my roof “not attached” so technically I won’t need a ground plane since I have the roof correct ?
  7. It’s funny I just added a ground plane to my Nagoya UT 72 mag mount that I’m using for my house. I had it laying around and decided to use it for my mobile unit when I’m home until I can get a proper antenna . I went to Lowe’s and got a 24x24 sheet of metal for 15$ mounted the antenna and popped it up on the roof used it all day yesterday seemed to work well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Abbree AR 771 GMRS antenna has been working great for me both GMRS and Ham frequencies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I just exported the repeater list for california "chirp" and imported it in chirp i noticed that alot of repeaters have the "s" skip function on them are these repeaters not working? or permission only? was wondering why they had the "s" function see attached
  10. While I Know this is a GMRS forum just wanted to get some feedback on 2m vs 70 bands. Im Doing a mass export of all the repeaters within a 100 miles off repeater book and was wondering what the mass consensus on exporting via 2m or 70cm? Seems like 2m is better for simplex than 70 where 70cm signals tend to penetrate buildings better than 2m. I guess both have its pros and cons just wanted to see what most are using these days.
  11. I’m sorry to bother but what do you mean by switching talk groups and everyone listening to the repeater is taken to the same talk group ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That’s awesome to know thank you for your help and looking into it. I’m going it reprogram my ht today. I’m really surprised how unused DMR is I’ll have someone chime in time from time but that’s about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You need to pay in order to use it from what I can tell you can sign up for a free trial and then after 45 days you would need to to pay a yearly fee see link below http:// https://papasys.com/join/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yes it is part of the Redlands PAPA System at least from what i see,
