  1. the HT';s are the exact same model of radio. I have a tram 1481 and LMR-600 coax to the tower @~ 61'.It also does it on all channels and I have tones set on all of the GMRS repeater channels.
  2. Yes the tones are used on Rx and Tx. When i have the HT I can go to the other end of the house and it stops receiving the signal but another HT in the same room still receives it...
  3. I have the repeater setup and when I turn on a HT the repeater seems to be dead keying or transmitting but I am not doing anything. It does it on all channels all the time. I can key the HT and hear myself then key the mic on the repeater and hear my self with the HT.. any ideas ?
  4. I am just asking anyone if they will have an interest in having a 2 meter repeater to use in the North west Dover Delaware not far from Kenton, Delaware. I should erecting a 90' Rohn 25g tower in the spring (2019) so I am trying to see if there is enough interest in one and I will put a 2 meter antenna on it along with my GMRS set up. if there is enough people out there that would use it I will repair the repeater I have so it can be open for use. Thank you everyone for interest, if anyone wants to assist in the erection of the tower send me an email and I can give you more details when the time comes closer to do the erection of the tower..... Update, there has been absolutely no interest so the repeater antenna for the 2 meter band will not be added when the tower is erected. Thank you....
  5. I am looking into the possibility of putting up a 90' Rohn 25 tower at my house in North West Dover near Kenton. I already own the tower, cable and Vertex repeater. I am putting this out here to see if anyone he's any interest in using the system. I have another repeater I can use for 2 meter band so if I can get interest in it, I will share it and I can gain knowledge from you in the process.
  6. I know imam going to catch hell for this but I have several AnyTone AT-5888UV Dual Band 136-174 & 400-490MHz Mobile Two Way Radios for my vehicles. I also have 5 Pcs BaoFeng UV-5XP Two Way Radio 8W Dual-band Walkie Talkies that work great even when I use my car of truck AnyTone as a repeater to hit my home repeater tower. I find the programming easy when using the computer for all of the radios, field programming is rough unless you memorize or carry the owners manual with you. So that's my 1€ on the subject. Just remember it is not like CB, power is not king with FM radios like these. This coming from someone that runs about 500 watts on CB. These Are line of sight communications and do not have a signal bounce like CB radios do. 20 watts should be more than enough with a properly tuned antenna system. Oh and one more thing, high quality antenna wire is a must, I use LMR600 but is very pricey so do your research before pulling the trigger on an a base/repeater system.. sorry it was long winded but no one told me anything about radios in this frequency range as in " need to know " information.... do a lot of research first.
