  1. TX should be 467.550, along with whatever tone it requires.
  2. couldn't agree more. needed an entire bottle of Advil after dealing with that website.
  3. That I'm not sure. Just got the radio on Sunday
  4. no, I was using the original version. so the later cps versions do not require you to install the radioddity firmware since it is the baofeng not the radioddity version radio?
  5. I just got the Baofeng GM-15 pro and its an awesome little radio, just at Witts end with the programming software not allowing you to program diy Channels as additional repeaters.
  6. Just got my Baofeng GM-15 pro this past Sunday. Really like the little radio and it just impressed me by being able to hit a repeater in Park Ridge Illinois from the Rogers park area of Chicago, basically from the Starbucks in the Loyola area on Sheridan road. My only issue is the software... using the radioddity gm-30 software to program it and it does not let you program the diy channels for additional GMRS repeaters.... I know they all use the same frequencies just different tones, but still I would like to be able to have additional repeaters that are outside my home base area for when I am out and about. Otherwise I really like this little Baofeng, and the green color is awesome. makes it easier to remember which call sign to use since my Motorola for ham is a black radio, and set up for ham frequencies, so the different size and especially color is ideal. Also it is a cute little radio.
  7. does the uv-13 pro software work with the gm-15 pro? using the radioddity gm-30 software to program my GM-15 pro.
  8. That is the same reason I do not have a ham plate and do not put the active member FOP stickers on my vehicles
  9. than that should also include no radio/computer use/phone use by cops. I see more cops in the Chicago metro area almost getting into crashes or causing crashes playing with their in car computers or talking on the phone than anyone using a radio ever will. if its good for the general population it is also good for them
  10. Why the need to be rude and obnoxious? That is not a way to get someone to register for this awesome site.
  11. For GMRS Baofeng GM-15 pro just got yesterday. Nice little radio. For Ham.... Alinco DR-605t for base with a older Motorola power supply got at a local hamfest for $35.00 total, Yaesu VX6, Yaesu FT-70, Motorola Astro Saber uhf with p25 phase 1
  12. I think people should be more worried about actual threats to our security like what I quoted, and not be the "radio police" and worry about if the radio is type accepted or not..... as long as the person using it has some general idea of how to use a radio, does not use offensive language, or use the radio for criminal purposes. GMRS/HAM radio is a hobby and hobbies are supposed to be fun and enjoyable things to do which for the most part it is, do we really need to have the self declared people who think they are the radio police and ruin a pleasant hobby for the majority of us over something like type acceptance?
  13. Just got a Baofeng GM-15 pro from a friend this morning, since we both just recently got our GMRS licenses and set the pl on one of the repeater channels while it was in channel mode.... something that it looks like isn't supposed to be able to and had my first contact from inside my local McDonalds. got very good signal reports and the receive audio is awesome. Use Motorola equipment for my ham radio and P25 and I think the receive audio is just as good on this little baofeng. It also has the Abbree AR-771 GMRS antenna along with a shorter antenna. Using the Abbree AR-771 antenna on it and think probably keep using that antenna. SO far it seems to be a great little radio.
  14. Don't think my Alinco dual band radio will work on GMRS
  15. I just got my GMRS license and planning on getting a GMRS mobile radio to set up with my 2m/440 ham station and wondering if it is possible to use the same 2m/440 antenna with both radios. I know I would have to switch the antenna cable from either radio or get an antenna switch if there is a reliable switch.... but other than that is it possible to use the same antenna? Thanks Brian WSDA973 KC9MSG
