All great on the app but one thing don’t see where you get requests or able to approve someone to use it
-
Some owners have there repeaters listed but you may also take in considering that the repeater owner may not check mygmrs much either or even so the repeater may be a old listing also .....I am also sitting on two that never responded

Hi, new member here also, I've programmed a couple repeaters near me that show TX and RX tones are needed however, the only way I could open/connect with one was to remove the RX tone. (Could hear the squelch(?) response from the repeater) Why is this? Does the RX tone mute the repeater response.
Thanks
Sometimes owners put tones on both ends do to interference from other repeaters local or distance repeaters on the same frequencies if it’s listed to put a receive tone in and tx that will be the only way to get into the repeater or hear the repeater….I do not have a receiving tone on this one so others can hear it on the frequency as far as transmit it is toned .Referring to mygmrs is your best tool

I'm hearing some folks using just the last 3 digits of their call signs to call a friend in order to start a conversation. They use their full call sign on clearing the channel. I have to assume they know each other pretty well.
Sometimes just times like that it makes sense if you have a group that gets together all the time yeah

Newbies may also start with Maxwell equations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell%27s_equations). Learning is good, right? It's like a dancing lesson offered by Lord!
Snark off: I still think that when somebody asks about "decent cheap SWR meter" the NanoVNA is a wrong answer. With all due respect to the NanoVNA and those who offered the advice.
As a repeater owner don’t think this is to hard to read with eyes

At one point Rich had the apple logo up there for download then after the National network was in place it was gone and you could only download for android so kinda figured he gave it up so I remember the message sent out about it coming if he doesn’t have time he doesn’t just thought I ask

NanoVNA is nothing less than miraculous piece of equipment, but it has drawbacks. The biggest: it is extremely unfriendly for newbies. The second: it can't measure power. And the third: screen sucks, or you must use PC, that is also may not be convenient. True, you can't find better tool for $50. But you must know how to use it.
That’s why I said what I said that guy must be a doctor because as far as I know the man was looking to measure his power and swr ....Not try to figure out how to use it spend the money on the link I posted you will be at ease ....Had mine for a year now and leaves it in line works and tells the truth.

Can anyone suggest a good cheap SWR meter that works well for GMRS frequencies? I've got some antenna trouble shooting to do.
Thanks!
