I have a long history with radios, starting with a CB radio shortly after High Schooll.  Eventually I joined a group that used GMRS.  My call-sign was KAE8153.  Unfortunately, I allowed it to lapse, and was not allowed to reclaim it.  In 2005 I received my current one of WQDM658.  In August of 2013, I became a Ham radio operator, and requested the vanity call-sign of KF4GSR.  My OLD (I do mean old) radios are not only obsolete, but they're BIG and heavy compared to modern H/Ts.  All I have that can work on GMRS at the moment is a Baofeng UV-5RC.  However, I look forward to improving that.

I believe strongly in disaster preparedness.  Part of this means having communications flexibility.  Therefore I plan to be active with both Ham radio, and GMRS.  I also look sorward to taking the Skywarn spotter training.
