  1. Another question... I have programmed in several channels without issue and sent them to the radio. On some of the channels I want the power output set to Low and have set them to L. In the Basic Alignment it shows 4 levels of output power ( as I understand it) H/MH/ML/eL (or something like that ). In the software I can only select channel power to H/L for the H setting and MH/ML for the L setting. I just want these channels to default to the lower power setting and not have to press a button to switch it to Lower power. I hope that makes some sense... So, I have the H setting set to L. Which I would have thought would make the outpower change to the lower setting But when I transmit, the output power is still High. Obviously I'm new to the Vertex radio programming, so what am I missing?
  2. I have the G6 version (400-470). I had read somewhere that you need to change the date but instead, I found the Wideband recovery tool and have run it on my VX-2200's. Now I have a new column in the programming software to select N/W4/W5. Perfect !!!!! On to the next issue ...
  3. Thanks for any information or help with my questions I purchased a Vertex VX-2200 to use as a GMRS mobile and I`m considering building a repeater with a pair of these. I have a cable and software and can program channels without issue. My questions are... 1. How do I tell if the radio is set to wideband or narrow? Which setting? 2. How do I change it, if needed? 3. Is there a good document that I can refer to for questions about programming these radios? Thanks again for your help.
