  2. Thanks, marcspaz, that gives me hope. I'm gonna try to get Arlington to send me another mic to try..... Wish me luck. Randy Knowles, KAA 8142
  3. I have just purchased one of these radios and, in general, I like a lot of the features. However, the tx audio is quite poor. Very bass-y, muffled and difficult to understand. Not crisp at all. I am wondering if I got a mic with a defective element. Do all of you get poor transmit audio, or is it just me? Thanks. Randy Knowles, KAA 8142.
  4. Hi BoxCar- GMRS came into existence in 1947, when the first license was issued to Al Gross, of Cleveland. He is the electronics engineer who conceived of CItizens' Radio as World War II came to a close. I can tell you a lot more about the history of GMRS if you are interested. Randy Knowles, KAA 8142.
  5. Thanks Jones. Baofeng Support told me that was "unused". I'll add your info in and show it as functional with the 50X1. Appreciate your contribution. Randy Knowles, KAA 8142.
