  1. Well BSR Mark,, I grade the experience with you an 'F'..... your quote "a restocking fee will apply and will also be based on the condition of the gear and the original packaging materials" Why the 'F' Mark?, because you spent all your time communicating with me by accusing the software or my computer as my issues. It became obvious to me you weren't reading my emails explaining that i tried two different cables two different operating systems, other radios were working fine on both scenarios. etc.. In the 4 email exchange i had with you,, never once did you suggest what WRUE951 suggested and what worked for me... My return request was purely due to frustration and your attitude which is prevailing here.. The radio is working now thanks to WRUE951 and as i told you on my last email telling you 'don't worry about the return, help from MYGMRS solved the problem' As far as future business with BSR... NOT FROM ME..... terrible terrible expericd... Next time, instead of spending time exchanging emils arguing with the customer,,, try helping them with real solutions and read the emails the customers are sending you....
  2. I didn't want to try a reset or anything with the radio because i intended to send it back but after Mark returned an email threatening a restocking fee i figured nothing else to loose. I download the .csv file you pointed me to, even though it is not directed from BSR, uploaded and BOOM. Both programs are now seeing all frequencies programmed in the radio... Thank-you very much for your help....
  3. Yup - trying other radios with the same cables would be line item #6.. i did and the cables work with other radios.. Rather than mess with it any further i'm going to return and try the KG-UV9D or the KG-Q10H.. Any recommendations on either radio?
  4. I dont have a .csv backup, i can't make one.. do you know if i can download that off their site? I can't find it. BTW - Mark did get back but he seems more interested in being argumentative then reading my emails detailing the problems im having and the solutions i have tried.. He is blaming the cable or Chrip but totally ignored the facts i pointed to him. I tried two different cables (the Red cable i got from them),and a Baofent cable i already had. I tried two different Softwares, Chirp and the Wouxun, and i tried on two different operating platforms Windows 10 and Mac IOS - all with the same exact results.. While the KG-UV9GX i got at the same time is working fine on all above.. It all points to the radio but rather than go through any more hassles i will return it.. Thanks for responding
  5. For the money and the support. IMHO the 935G hands down.
  6. I think I was asking if anyone experienced these issues? And yea, I don’t have any choice but to give them time to get back to me in some way or form, I guess I’m just used to BuyTwoWay’s very quick responses.,, In the meantime, I’m not having a good experience with this radio.
  7. The radio see’s all the programmed SHTF freqs but Chirp or the Wouxun program is not. Therefor I’m unable to create the backup .csv file. The UV9GX I got is working as it should. Also notice the PX radio freqs jump all over the place when I do manual up or down scan. Defiantly something flaky with this radio
  8. Anyone having problems with the BetterSafe UV9PX trying to read and save the radio programed frequencies either with CHIRP (latest) or the Wouxun Program? When i try to download the radios program frequencies the download showed only 30 Ham Channels on the first try and next attempt showed only the GMRS frequencies.. This happens on both the Red cable and a Baofeng cable and on Windows 10 and an Apple IOS Laptop. Mark with Better Safe asked me to send him the .csv files yesterday, which i did and he is now un-responsive.. He is not answering my emails... Im really not happy with this radio right now and will more then likely send it back for a refund which leads me to my next question... Anyone have problems with Bettersafe refunding bad radios?
  9. I built my own version of that and it’s great. Was willing to share with site owner but he has no interest. I have everything loaded up KML for my popular ‘spots’ and my route highlights available repeaters and information needed for my travels…. Really not that difficult to compile.
  10. Ebay sellers will do various bundle options on a specific radio.. Some sellers are bold enough to sell un-locked radios and advertise the frequency ranges.. In a nut shell, i haven't found one Baofeng radio that can't be modified... The UV-5 model radios are the same radio..They basically take an unlocked version and program them for a specific version, ti.e. Ham, GMRS , MHRS, etc. No different with the UV-9 models. IMO,, Baofengs are a cheap way to learn about radios and some are even good communicators. I would bet that 99% of the users on this forum own one, two, three or more of them.. Many times I have seen guys bashing them then you see them using them all the while they have more expensive fancy radios on their shelf.. When i'm out Kayaking and fishing, i always grab one of my cheap Baofengs.. But my favorite GO TO GMRS radio is the Wouxun KG-935 or the KG-UV9GX
  11. Save $30 bucks. LMAO
  12. A few friends of mine enjoy desert boondocking to play with their dirt toys.. They tell me it's very common to find a temporary open repeater somone has set up in the areas they camp for anyone to use. And apparently they get used often.. I understand it's all word of mouth for the Channel specifics.. I didn't recommend this site as a means to advertise those repeater specifics but got to thinking, why couldn't this site be used for those temporary repeaters.. Say, if you set up a few locations, mark it as temporary Repeater location and toggle the status online/offline.. What do you guys/gals think?? anyone gonna get 'butt heart' if this site becomes a tool for temporary boondocking/campong repeaters?
  13. you can always look up the Licensee for a contact and ask the repeater originator why they are providing false info.. It does not make sense to me why they would do that. Providing false registration information serves them appositely no benefit.
  14. if you don't enter a location for repeater when setting up your repeater than the coordinates resorts to 0.0,0,0.0.0
  15. Yup, I’ve often wondered if turning ‘location services’ off actually does what they claim. I generally turn off location services only to find laterit turned on, and not by me…. Hmmm
  16. Last night i was tuned into one of the busy GMRS ch's in my community and caught conversion of two guys having a serious conversation about some Baofeng portable radios having mini WiFi chips in their circuits, claiming these could be used for various things such as spying. I just chuckled it off as two idiots talking $hit, but then one of them claimed to be a Navy Pilot.. And the two were dead serous about the conversion. Hmm,,, Today, i caught myself thinking about that all day long. WTF Just throwing this out there guys..
  17. Depends.. Lots of good legal FCC approved GMRS radios out there, i use the Maxons. And there are lots of FCC non-approved for GMRS radios out there such as the Baofeng's and the Motorola XTL5000s...... Personality i prefer to follow the rules. If you are one that wants to stay FCC compliant, perhaps you may refine your question to best radio to use that is FCC compliant, then take if from there. Good Luck.
  18. sounds like you need to do some testing...provided you have a decent line of sight from your Antenna, you should be able to get out as far as the eye can see... what is the antenna SWR?
  19. i had that garble effect when i had antenna mounted on a rear tire mount in my jeep. Moved it to the front right cowel and worked awesome..
  20. Im running a Diamond 40Amp Power supply mounted in a 36"x48" cabinet. My repeater radios are also in this same cabinet where i have placed a wireless SensorPush temperature monitor set at 90 Degrees. I also have two AirPlate venation fans (one exhaust one push fan) mounted on top and bottom of the cabinet and set to come on at 80 Degrees. The ventilation fans do kick in once in while, the temperature monitor never has went to alarm.. This is all mounted in my garage where the temp stays at 70-80 degrees.
  21. Bridgecomm GMRS Repeaters are basically two Commercial Maxon 8402A Radios crammed into a single rack mount chassis. They use Maxon's ACC-810/N, Programming Software with some minor proprietary changes. The Maxon's 8402A's are pretty decent radios.. I'm running two of them for my repeater and get a lot better performance then the Wouxun KG-1000's i had. I'm using Windows 11 for the programing software but it also works on Windows 10, not sure if they have an IOS version.. If you want to save about half the cost of the Bridgecom, build your own out of the two Maxon 8402A's.. RFwiz.com has a pretty decent price on these radios.. I bought my programming software ($35 bucks) but have since seen the software free on a few Ham sites. I'm getting 70 miles easy with these radios and coiuld only get about 40 with the Wouxuns. If you go with either the Bridgecomm or the Maxons you'll be happy.
  22. Simplex is like a talk back repeater.. When you broadcast, your transmission is recorded by the Simplex controller then re-transmitted a few seconds after you end your transmission. So actually there are two exact transmissions, and yes - you do need to get accosted to the talkback... Simplex can be set up with one radio and one antenna, A Duplexer is not needed. Since you would hear your recorded transmission this in sense would be a way to test your transmission.. EcoStation can be set up for simplex or duplex and you don't need a controller since your computer would provide that.. I knew someone awhile back that used a Latnex simplex controller and a handheld radio connected to a base antenna, it worked pretty good.. Simplex repeaters are easy to set up and a good way to learn repeaters.
  23. * Ecostation can be set up for either a Simplex or a Duplex Repeater using 'ONE' Radio.. I have not done this but there are YouTube Videos calming good results.. I use RigBlaster for my I.D.er which knows when radio traffic is present.. It works great.. I actually use it for a voice I.D.er with my repeater name. you can make thet MP3 file with this tool.. https://speechgen.io * The RigBlaster is a controller for your Radio I.D. Voice are Code * I use this for my remote power by phone, works great https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/SwitcheOn-2-Channel-15-Amp-Remote-Power-Control_p_153.html * you can also remote power with an HTML version.. A friend of my used this one and it works great as well. http://www.ambery.com/ip-p4.html
  24. You could do that with Ecostation software and a RIGBlaster Controller. In fact, Ecostation could also serve as your Simplex repeater. Ecostation is free to use for 30 days and i think about $20 if you purchase.
  25. more positive comments will overrule a negative comment. So carry on..
