Re: Newly Purchased ICOM FR4000

Question

I also have this repeater and by timer, i can not get it to ID to save my life. I've followed all instructions to the T and it will still only ID on TOT but not on timer. RepeaterID makes a general purpose CWID transmitter that simply hooks to the Kenwood port of an HT and the other into the ID device. from there it xmits the CWID from the HT that is progg'd to the repeater. it works 100% and i dont worry about this repeater ID'ing. I dont work for, or are affiliated with RepeaterID, just wanna help, i know the frustration.

I don't think you can set it on a interval timer. Kenwood's can be set that way..  Its probly better to set it for traffic only anyway

Why do you need it to I’d.  FCC doesn’t require it. None of the 20 local repeaters I have around me ID

Part 95.1751

(c) Any GMRS repeater station is not required to transmit station identification IF:

(1) It retransmits only communications from GMRS stations operating under authority of the individual license under which it operates; and,

(2) The GMRS stations whose communications are retransmitted are properly identified in accordance with this section.
