DUDE! that link made it RIDICULOUSLY easy to sign that petition. I DO live in an HOA and that's one of the things i have to deal with regarding getting my base station and antenna set up. (Come on @WSFA364, let's hear the jokes).

But for real, I am in the process of getting my mast installed and raised where it kind of hides behind my chimney.

HOA's can't restrict over the air reception devices as per the FCC OTARD rules.  These include broadcast TV and satellite Internet antennas.  Erect the largest, ugliest TV antenna and affix your GMRS antenna to it or install a Starlink receiver on top of a tower and incidentally add your GMRS antenna.  Some HOAs allow the installation of flag poles, so they use that workaround also.

My MIL had an issue in a HOA many years ago when she had a satellite TV dish installed.  They threatened to fine her until I presented them with a copy of the federal regulations.

Yeah, with that, I know I said to erect the biggest, ugliest tower, but we should all be respectful of our neighbors.  Easier to gain support when it is not a total eyesore.

That's a fair point. It's easy to want to stick it to the man (and I think that's usually the best course of action), but I applaud and respect the reminder to be good neighbors in the process. That's an excellent perspective.
