WRQC527 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Check out the home page here: https://winterfieldday.org/index.php#hero And the rules here: https://winterfieldday.org/downloads/2026-rules-v3.pdf It's like the ARRL Field Day On Ice. Quote
WRYZ926 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Most clubs that were planning on participating have canceled due to the weather. Current temps are 1 degree and it's suppose to snow all day and night here in Missouri. For those venturing out today, stay safe and warm. TNFrank, WRQC527, Northcutt114 and 1 other 4 Quote
Northcutt114 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 10m is busy today with WFD stuff. I'm hearing a lot of chatter. WSHL413 and TNFrank 2 Quote

Northcutt114 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I just spent the last 30 minutes listening to 20m. It is absolutely on fire. My waterfall was slap full of signals. Winter Field Day in full effect. 71% proficient on General as of this post. Might take the test if I get iced in tomorrow. WSHL413, WRQC527 and TNFrank 3 Quote
TNFrank Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I made a QSO to the Big Island of Hawaii today. He was a 5/8 and said I was a 5/7. I tuned my EFHW a bit and got the SWR down to 1.37:1 @ 28.3MHz, 1.73:1 for 28.4 and 1.76:1 for 28.5MHz so that's pretty decent IMHO. I need more POTA QSO's. Hopefully 10M will be busy tomorrow. 73 WSHL413, WRQC527 and Northcutt114 3 Quote

TNFrank Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Normally Hawaii comes in later in the day when the Band shifts to the West. Georgia would be a long stretch for a Hawaii QSO. Not saying it couldn't be done but it'd take perfect conditions on 10M. Quote
Northcutt114 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Well, I managed to get 4 QSO's for 16 points in the freezing rain for my first ever Winter Field Day. I submitted my log and if I read the page correctly, I'll get a pdf certificate at some point. SteveShannon, TNFrank and WSHL413 3 Quote
