kidphc Posted October 18, 2019 Report Posted October 18, 2019 I was driving back from West Virginia heading to Frederick, MD. Wife was in my truck, I was driving my father's truck. I had taken the two BTech GMRS-V1 radios with some mag mounts on the trucks so we could talk on the way to Frederick. All was fine till I hit Charleston WVa, We were on 462.7125 and we started getting what sounded like Motobro or DMR. It was interesting to hear, I really am not sure what it was actually. Anyone have any idea? I do know were were close to the hospital and casino at that point. Quote

quarterwave Posted October 19, 2019 Report Posted October 19, 2019 There is alot (at least there used to be, it was preferred band) UHF commercial and public safety/services in that area. There were a ton of UHF community repeaters which are now probably LTR trunks. It is possible you were hearing a mix, where multiple high power repeaters are on air at same time, especially if your radios have a broad receiver. Quote
