Honestly... 6 miles is not good, at all.

You have a massive elevation advantage going everywhere but south. And you should still be able to get 6-8 miles south while barefoot. There is only about 400 feet of elevation difference going 20+ miles in every direction but south.

Unless there is something I'm missing, 12.5w SSB, you should be able to talk north almost all the way to the shore line... out to Buffalo to the west and at least 20 miles or more to the east.

That is kind of surprising.  The Wilson antennas are typically really good.

Any chance you have access to a 108" whip to test with?  It may be worth it, if you can borrow one I went from a Firestick to a Wilson 1000 and jumped from 2-3 miles to about 8.5 miles.  When I switched to a 114" whip, my range jumped to 18-20 miles reliably... 26 miles on the ragged edge and the occasional 40+ mile contact, depending on my elevation and the other station.
