Greetings all - new user here!! Just wondering what the story is concerning NYC repeaters (availability and access). It looks like there's only two and one is shut down due to jamming. I don't see a process to access to the remaining repeater (ERS) and I'm wondering if there even IS a process. I placed a comment on a post the other day but not sure if anyone saw it. I understand these are funded by individuals so I'm happy to chip in to keep things going.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or do I just ping the owner (JohnE)?

Thanks in advance...

as a general rule I keep the mid town machine private. Have had too many problems opening it up to the general public. I keep it listed as a matter of coordination now b/c there is no option to list it as closed /private to the general public.

since it seem like you have a little height and are on the east side I will PM you the info for the Brooklyn machine as well as an SI machine I know to be open.

Hey John, can you PM me the info as well? I had both but I think you've changed PLs over time.

You can list the repeater as Member's Only so people know it's private.

I don’t live in NY but am curious how repeater communications fair in the Big Apple. Given that many repeaters are on top of tall buildings and there are so many tall buildings, how well does a mobile rig or HT work when in between all those buildings?

Never tried so I don’t know.
