lafa10 Posted March 26, 2021 Report Posted March 26, 2021 I'm new to the GMRS world, just got my license and a pair of handhelds. I tried saving NOAA frequencies and I'm not able to. I was able to add a couple repeaters but not the NOAA. Am I just going to need to manually search in the frequency mode or can they be saved to channel mode? I have a ton of questions but I'll start with that Quote
WRAK968 Posted March 26, 2021 Report Posted March 26, 2021 I've heard a lot of new people are having issues when it comes to saving frequency's, especially through chirp (not sure why they chose to use chirp when the 82C, the radio the v1 was based off of, had its own standalone software)My understanding of the manual is that you can only save certain frequencies in the 31-128 channel bank, that said frequencies will be receive only. MozartMan Posted March 26, 2021 Report Posted March 26, 2021 I have BTECH GMRS-V1 and used CHIRP to program it. I was able to save one weather station for my region - WX1PA7 - into memory channel 101. Quote
Mikeam Posted March 26, 2021 Report Posted March 26, 2021 Mine lets me save with Chirp all NOAA frequencies. I skipped about 4 channels an the entered them no problem! You can by channel decide which ones you include in your scan feature! Quote
