I am attempting to program a radio with local repeaters.

When I go to the map link, there are very few repeaters in my local area.  (Dayton, Ohio)

However, when I go to the Repeater link, there are several in the area.

Is one more accurate than the other?

Please advise.

Thanks

James

Both can contain outdated listings. It's best to just monitor the repeater output and see if there is any traffic. You can then ask specific questions about programming your radio by giving us the manufacturer or brand and model.

Dayton has a super high profile repeater on the 462.700 frequency. I use it when I am in town. I can also communicate through it from by base station 50 crow-miles away. The repeater owner owns a number of high-profile repeaters in the region. He is a communications professional and great guy. The owner requires a phone call from you to gain permission. Phone number is with his myGMRS listing. He has one in Cincinnati as well, but different PL. Until recently it was the highest profile in town.

James:

I notice using the MAP function on this website that for Dayton there is a repeater on 462.625 with a PL (that I will not share in public with non-members, but if you go to the Map function and click on Tipp City 675 and scroll down the information listed on the center of the map, you will find the PL), whose owner is shockdls and his email address is listed on his Profile page.

Interestingly enough, if instead of using the Map function, you go to Repeaters and do a database search for Dayton, Ohio, the following two additional repeaters come up:

Dayton 575

Dayton 700

Belt and suspenders, I suppose! ?
