To look on the repeater locator and find that Kentucky doesn’t have one gmrs repeater, it’s depressing. Am I just not seeing them? Did I use the site incorrectly? I would love to find a GMRS mentor. Someone that can teach me this hobby. WRJM433

The title of this post states that south central Kentucky needs a GMRS repeater.  However, the body of the original post states that Kentucky [implied as a whole] doesn't have one GMRS repeater.  As far as Kentucky as a whole, there are 25 GMRS repeaters.  And there are more if stale (which may or may not be in service) and offline repeaters are counted.

I'm not pointing this out to be a smart alec.  Just pointing out that there are in fact GMRS repeaters in Kentucky as a whole, in regard to the sentence in the body of the original post.

Be undepressed! I used the Advanced Search function and received 25 repeaters in Kentucky.  You should be able to see what parameter I used from this screen shot.  All I did was enter the name of the state.  Only a few of them fit in the screen shot, but you can perform the same search.  Only ten appear per page.

It's kind of a weak point in both the search and the map, but any repeater that the listing hasn't been updated in the last year, the search considers "stale", and by default, won't include them in the search.

On the map, look for the gear icon near the top left, and toggle that option on to "show stale repeaters". There's some holes around Bowling Green and Elizabethtown, but quite a few scattered around still.
