Does anyone know if the LAGG still exists in any form? I tried to join via their website but got no response, and my email to their administrator bounced.

Failing that, would anyone happen to know who I should contact for permission for my family to use the METRO 4 repeater in Minneapolis, MN?

Thanks

Steven - This is a copy of the memo that I posted in the LAGGROUP forum just the other day...

LAG Members - There is a potential software glitch here at the Forum that is locking members out - if a certain series of keystrokes takes place. This happened to me two years ago, but was corrected by the Administrative staff at that time.

However, it MAY POSSIBLY be that the administrative staff, in trying to troubleshoot the problem, may now be locked out as well and are unable to get back in here themselves. We hope that is not the case but the possibility exists. icon_sad.gif

If you are in the SETTINGS SCREEN in your profile, DO NOT attempt to change the background color scheme or any visualizations. Just leave things as they are because it is that protocol that is where the issue is located in the software.

Even if Dave ( administrator staff ) can somehow get back into the forum by way of his administrative control panel, LAGGROUP  forum has no posting traffic, no new authorized members since roughly mid 2012 and no administrative activity since the glitch in the software started approximately 4-5 months ago.

At this point, that Forum and it's main website are essentially useless. I have placed memos inside the forum indicating that   myGMRS.com is alive and well and to register with the main info site and then come to this forum to exchange info.  However, with almost zero participation there, very few have actually seen my memos.

Regarding the Metro 4 system that you wish to use,  I am sending you some (2010 year) contact information by way of private messaging.  Please check your forum Pm inbox for that info...

Hope that helps you with your inquiry.

P/S to Steve -

There is a memo waiting for you in your Forum PM inbox.  If you are not familiar as yet with the layout of the forum, your message center can be accessed by clicking on the "letter"  icon just to the left of your name in the upper right portion of the main screen.

Thank you.

I was wondering the same thing on this.  Been almost a year since I've applied to that group with no word back.  Was wanting to get access to Chicago 1 and 2.

Dan - I'm sending you a private message with Chicago system contact info from the 2010 LAG roster (the most recent). This may no longer be accurate, but it is all that is available.  Please check your private messaging inbox here in the forum.

To all   MyGMRS members ....  due to the severe software issues at the LAGGROUP forum, please do not rely on any messaging contact there for the time being.  The current administrator tried to repair the software and he, himself, got locked out by the bad software error and can not get back in.  That forum is a 'dead zone' at this time, but  IF I hear anything new,  I'll place a new post in this thread with details.

P/S to Dan - dr4710 ... kinda cool to have an entire expressway named after you !!!  :D

Thats too bad nobody can apply or get any of the system information. I travel from Michigan to Milwaukee frequently would be nice to have access and see what they have to offer. I am going to open a GMRS repeater in the Grand Rapids/Holland Michigan area hopefully very soon but will make a seperate post in regards to that subject.

Hello, Cody, and Welcome to the Forum...

I was in contact with the Administrator at LAG recently and he has exhausted every possible avenue to de-bug the software and to get back in himself as the sole administrator.  At the moment, even if you can log in to the Member-Only repeater list and personnel roster, the software will not display any repeater access info because that part of the main site software is inoperable as well.

On a case by case basis, let me know which system in Wisconsin that you wish to get permission to use and I can TRY to at least get repeater owner contact information for you in a private message back to you. I don't provide that info in the open because spybots from many seach engines 'camp out' here and I don't want any personal or system information to be gathered and placed on Google, Ask, Bing or others.

Please PM me with your request and I'll see if the 2010 owner's roster (most recent) has what you are looking for on hard copy.

P-G

UPDATE on LAGGROUP October 28, 2013

One of the previous administrators did check in over the weekend and will be taking care of some details in the LAG forum that have been neglected for some time. Once the other administrator is able to get back in as well, the system glitches will be hopefully be resolved. We are also hoping that new members will be accepted again and that the main Members Website will be repaired and updated.  These things are in progress - please be patient, and check in at LAGGROUP every couple of weeks to see how things are moving along.

Thank you.

I wanted to drop a quick note too and say that I had tried to sign up.  Must have went through a black hole or something.  I am also in Minneapolis/St Paul area and was looking for access to Metro4 as well.  Anyone hear from the LAG admins lately?

As a matter of fact, I did... about 10 days ago.

Jeff Rogers is the new administrator and is working to correct the glitches. There is some news that will be released in a matter of weeks concerning LAGGROUP and as soon as I get word about the site and forum repairs, etc., I'll let everyone know here about things.

Thank You.
