ICOM F221-1 Scan programming

Newb

Question

I have added "Scan tag" function to the P2 button but am still not able to populate the SCAN 1 bank. Per the manual the Tag function is supposed to add the current frequency/channel to SCAN 1 bank but all that is displayed when depressed is SCAN ON and SCAN OFF.  The mic IS grounded.  I'm using 100 software not 100S.

What am I missing????

Per the current download of the manual

Quote

SCAN TAG KEY
Adds or deletes the selected channel to the scan group.

It does NOT specify "SCAN 1 bank".

You may need to select a bank first (Scan start/stop in this manual seems to show a Scan A and a Scan B option)

I seems that nomenclature is the part of the problem.  It appears that SCAN 1 is a GROUP of frequencies comprised of all of the frequencies/channels IN BANK 1 and not a Bank of it's own.

So the Scan Tag Key being depressed indicating START and STOP of scanning of the frequency/channel that is displayed.  The problem to me seems to be that there is no indication that the frequency/channel has been eliminated from the scan. When the unit is scanning, it doesn't indicate where it is at in the scan until a frequency/channel is in use and is displayed.

I'm going to have to play with the scan programing a little more to understand the options.
