I have a couple antenna's on the roof of the truck, both Tram antenna's. One is a dual band 70/2m (BR-179) the other is for a scanner but both are very similar in design. They are on NMO mounts in the roof and I was thinking of adding springs as they hit low hanging branches and such and I am concerned about pulling the mount out of the roof metal. From what I can find the dual band will need to be re-tuned, has anyone had any luck adding springs? Since in NMO mounts maybe just go with a different style antenna?
