I noticed there is a "Node Number" listed on some repeaters and some without a "Node Number". What is the point in having a "Node Number"? Who hands these numbers out to the various repeater owners? Just curious if that is something I should look into for my Repeater Station.

A repeater that is linked on the network of other repeaters is a node on the network. As to should you link your repeater to the network? It depends if you want your repeater traffic on a large network or local. I personally would not but some do. I can’t speak to the process, I’m sure someone here can if that’s something you want to do.

Also becoming a node on a network requires an interface that has been difficult for many to obtain and for which you provide your own support. You build it and then you are on your own. With the help of a few people here who have gone before.
