Hello all!

I just wanted to come on here and let everyone know about a new GMRS net that has just kicked off locally here in the Hickory, NC area (Charlotte, NC metro).  It is called the Barretts 600 Net because the repeater is on the Barretts Mountain tower site.  Frequency is 462.600, standard +5 offset, and the tone is 146.2 Hz.  It's a wide area repeater and reaches at last count about 40 miles circumference to Hickory, NC.  The net is every Saturday night @ 7:00pm eastern time.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions/comments/concerns.

Thank you and hope to talk soon!

Man, sure wish that I could join in on the Sunday Night net, but I'm here in Bucks County Pennsylvania. If You all have a Zello Channel, I would be willing to to sign on some Sundays.

You are solid copy full quieting in West Asheville. I am using only a HT (3db rooftop antenna) so I don't have a prayer. Excellent machine and it's really getting out.

A fellow Extra here so well done OM and 73. I prefer being unknown so no call. Sry OM. I occasionally appear on the mt Mitchell machine.

 Best wishes!

Thanks for the info David, is this net and repeater still active today in late '24?  I'm in Charlotte area and looking to make new contacts and explore the hobby.

Thanks!

Might wanna just take a listen and get it programmed in and reach out.   No better fast way of finding out first hand then just listening.   You could even listen on simplex and see what you hear.  Especially during the time stated for the net.
