Question

Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been asked a billion times, but i couldn't find any information about it.

I believe that i have everything connected correctly as i could see my repeater node number on the map and it was green, but yet when i go to the "manage nodes" page it is saying "Unmanaged."

Also, when i refresh the node page it's giving me an error saying "The selected node is sending statistics, but is not connected to the management interface. please check your settings in the rpt-cmd tool."

I'm pretty new to this node stuff, not necessarily new to Linux, but i can't find anything pertaining to the "rpt-cmd" command.

I've ran the command: asterisk -rx "rpt fun 20808 *3176" a few times, trying to connect my node to the closest hub and it just goes to the next command prompt saying nothing.

What am i missing here?

Is it just a port issue on the modem or am i missing something else?

Thanks!

I figured it out when I had to reinstall the OS...
Before running number "8. Run the script with the following command: sudo ~/repeaterfinder.sh" from the section "Configure Your Node Manually" on the page How Do I Join The myGMRS Network
I had to change "deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/" to "deb http://legacy.raspbian.org/raspbian" in the file "/etc/apt/sources.list"

I had to change this because it was causing an error while trying to run the script, as the old website link is no longer in existence!

Once I changed it, I then ran the script from number 8, and it downloaded everything correctly. It then rebooted, and I changed my password... I checked the "manage nodes" page, and the node came up correctly. I was able to manage it then, as well as connect my node to a regional node.

I have the same problem you have but using WinSCP it will not allow me to save the changes to the /etc/apt/sources.list file says  i don't have permission.

Thanks

John

You have to use sudo in front of the command... Like this

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Then press "ctrl X" to save, press "y", then press "enter"

If you want to check to make sure it saved, run the command again and check to see if the changes were saved.

Hope that helps :)

Glad it worked!

After much research, I found that using the command: sudo simpleusb-tune-menu
helped to adjust the audio in/out. Not sure if that will work for you, but feel free to give it a try. :)

Okay got it working. Also figured out if I do a sudo nano /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf

This will bring up the file to change full duplex with repeater control to Full duplex with no telemetry so I can use an external controller.

Thanks Again.

I had the same issue.  I figured out that during setup of the node I had executed repeaterfinder.sh before the device had an Internet connection.  Giving it that connection and re-running repeaterfinder.sh allowed it to come up in the list of nodes and allowed me to click Manage.
