Solar powered repeaters?

WRKC935

Question

Anyone built a solar powered repeater.  I might have access to a site that doesn't have any power currently.  I would have roof access to install a couple solar panels and run a repeater.  Repeater would most likely be a 25 watt XPR8400 that would not be linked for the time being.

Thinking that two 100 ish watt solar panels with a battery system should be enough but would defer to others that have done this and been successful with their efforts.

Glad you have the right person....just now seeing this. I am in WA State, but often went to Alaska for the oil industry. My solar repeaters were for use on buoys and for oil spill response.

Now, I manage radio networks for a private corporation with fire departments spread across the United States......taking much of my time right now as we are upgrading everyone to APX6000XE and APX8000XE handhelds, lots of work.
