WRYG716 Posted October 28, 2023 Report Posted October 28, 2023 I have 2 tyt9800 quad band radios and found a guy on eBay selling cables to make them run as a repeater. Has anyone else tried this? Quote

Has anyone else tried this? People have built repeaters using two individual transceivers. I don’t know about that model though. Sometimes they run into issues with the receiver half de-sensing because of proximity to the transmitter. One thing you should consider is how you will provide the station ID. some people use the ID-o-matic, an inexpensive repeater controller. http://www.hamgadgets.com/ID-O-MATIC-IV Quote

0 gortex2 Posted October 31, 2023 Report Posted October 31, 2023 In the end most normally spend more in parts than grabbing a good used repeater. The last GR1225 I grabbed was $250 plus shipping. SteveShannon 1 Quote
