You could look up the fcc cert that is on the back of the radio Third what does it matter if they come from Asia. So does about 99% of everything I have many different makers of radio from the uv5 to Motorolas they all work the same and no one knows or cares what I’m running. thank you and which radios do you prefer? You shouldn't care about their opinions, but they are definitely out there.
WRXB215
@WQNG647 The radio I carry most of the time is the UV-5R8W. Yes, I know it isn't a GMRS radio. There are some newer radios and certainly many better ones but these are very in-expensive and work quite well.
WQNG647
since it is not a GMRS radio how did you get it to work on GMRS?

Some radios are "open" to program in what you want frequency wise as long as the hardware is capable. Others can be modded, jailbroken, or other tricks to get them to work.
