If using Computer Programming Software, what CPS are you using? Quote
0 Socalgmrs Posted April 18 Report Posted April 18 Get a programming cable, Down load chirp and use GM-5RH as the radio. 100xs easier then on the face of the radio. can you here traffic on the repeater? How far are you? Are you close enough to hit it with an HT? Good line of sight? Quote
0 WRXB215 Posted April 18 Report Posted April 18 @WSAF467 If you can give us a little more detail on where you are having trouble, we may be able to help you. Otherwise we can only take a shot in the dark as to what the problem it. Quote
0 WSAF467 Posted April 20 Author Report Posted April 20 Thank you for your response. I used Chirp. The following screen shot is what I have inputScreen shot of Chirp.docx It seems that I have been able to hit the repeater. What I need to know is what channel does the person that I am calling need to be on to receive my transmission through the repeater? Quote

I have used Chirp and I was able to hear the repeater but was not able to communicate but I think the problem was that I took the +5 out of the program in Chirp. I am about 5 miles from the repeater. No line of sight. Quote
0 WSAF467 Posted April 20 Author Report Posted April 20 Also what frequency does the receiver need to be on? Quote
0 Socalgmrs Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 Put the plus 5 back in. It has to be there. The repeater receives on 1 and transmits in the other. If you sent it up correctly it will work. Also put it on high power. Get everything set up then lower the power if you want if you can Quote
0 WRVR263 Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 I've ridden this train. Chirp works unless it doesn't. Fastest fix for me was to (a) bookmark the pages in the manual that describe how to program channels and displays, (b) factory reset the radio, and (c) enter the PL codes and display indications manually. A little kludgy at first try but it works. Quote

Don’t change anything else. Quote
