I've tried to program a couple of my UV-5R & UV-9R radios to access the local repeaters. I've gone to the repeaterbook postings available through CHIRP, and copy and pasted the repeater site's data to my radios. I can key the radio, and it acts like it's made a connection, but I can't hear anything coming back. I suspect I'm 'over thinking' the individual set up for each system via CHIRP. If it's a TSQL system, I need to have a tone in both the tone mode and the Tone Squelch details? Do I need a value in the DTCS and the RX DTCS blocks (both 023)? Duplex is +. Offset is 5.00, Mode is FM Power is High. cross Mode is Tone>Tone DTCS polarity is NN? (Not sure what that means) PTT ID is off, BCL isn't checked and the S-Code is 1. (I'm using the Cortez625 repeater as an example. WRDA964)
Thanks for the help on this. I know once I get one of these working, the sky is my limit.
