Is there anything special to do that will turn on the GPS info?

The 3 options in the menu are all on.

Thanks

Heres a good start:

Specifically, this part:

GPS Capability

The UV-17 Pro GPS supports both GPS and BDS modes. The coordinates and elevation measurements are exact as expected. This includes location sharing between two UV17 Pro GPS radios. The UV17 Pro GPS also has the ability to send GPS coordinates between two radios.

Verify GPS capability

To verify that your radio has GPS, Menu 4 should display GNSS to select the GPS options. When GPS is turned ON, a long press of the Blue key in the upper right of the keypad will display the GPS screen.

I purchased a second radio to be able to send info back and forth. The first radio has a defective GPS function.  New one has GPS in green. Faulty one is red.

Help please!  I accidentally turned on my UV17-Pro-Max while gripping it so tightly that the PTT and maybe the FM buttons were held down.  The radio entered a mode where it acts only as a flashlight.  PTT turns on and off the flashlight, and there is nothing on the display screen (dark screen).  Does anyone know how to get the radio back into its normal mode?

Take the battery off, turn radio on and then off without battery installed.

Replace battery, should be fine. Mine did that once here also.

Hello.  I just got one of these UV-17 Pro GPS radios.  The advertisement said it could do a wireless copy of another radios frequency, but I cant find how to do it.  Some sites tell me to hold the blue button to enable frequency copy but that activates the GPS display.  (and that info is for the non GPS model)    Does anyone know how to do it?  Thanks.

Go to MENU (Green button) / RADIO SETTINGS (3) / PRESS SK2 (26) / Select SEARCH

SK2 is the small button below the PTT button on the side. This setting allows you to choose FM RADIO, SCAN, SEACH, or VOX to be activated by this button. It's a bit of a pain not to have a dedicated button for Search, but I the feature can come in handy.

You can also set the SK2 button's function in software.
