Tidradio TD-H3 scanning

I got a 2 pack of these H3's and both do the same behavior.  When I am scanning on channel A, channel B cannot receive.  Like wise, if I am scanning on channel B, channel A cannot receive.  I can't find any info about this of whether this is intended or not.  Only other gmrs HT radio i own is a talkpod A36 plus and it can receive while scanning on the other channel.  Seems like the H3 dumbs down to a single channel radio while scanning on one of the channels.  Anybody else experience this?

I don't have that radio but there must be something you are missing. Have you read through the manual carefully?

That is how the H3's work as they are not true dual receive.

I don't believe the H3 is actually scanning the VFO's.  It's scanning the channels programmed into the radio..  That's how I use my H3.

At home I use the SDRPlay RSPdx reciever as a panadapter hooked to a Diamond 3000N Super Discone, RX 25-3,000MHZ to actually scan for activity across the bands.
