Does anyone in the US sell these things?  Every time I think I've found one it's in the UK.  Looking for one that will encompass a 1.5"OD mast.

Have you used something like this for a mast?  The UK ones are almost double the length.  I'm actually a customer of Supply House already.

No, I haven’t. Personally I wouldn’t use something like that. I was just trying to respond to your query. I would find or make an internal coupler that would fit between two tubes like scaffolding couplers.
I use a Spiderbeam 12 meter telescoping fiberglass mast to hold up my efhw antenna wire.
I also have four sticks of chain link fence top rail that have a swaged end that fits into the next. I would only put a couple together rather than try to stack all four. They will be used for vhf antennas.

I have used 1 5/8" fence post couplers without any issues. I do have my masts secured to the side of the house and/or guyed well with dakron guy rope.

I use 16 stainless steel zip screws to hold the coupler onto two fence posts. This has held up just fine for me even with heavy winds. These couplers also fit most j pole (satellite dish) mounts too.

I used two 8 foot lengths and a 6 foot length of 1 5/8" fence posts with couplers for my dual band antenna mast. I do have the mast securely attached to the side of the house with three clamps and it is also guyed at the top with dakron guy rope.

Here is my 6 band cobweb antenna mounted to a j mount with an 8 foot 1 5/8" fence post.
