There was a post, I think, of someone mentioning that your GMRS call sign is usually based around your location.
Since my call sign is WRYP550, and my two other friends' call signs start with WSDX or WSDV (both of my friends live about 10 min away from me and they also got their licenses this week, just 3 days apart from each other and my call sign was created back in September), this begs the question (from me, at least): Why do my friends' call signs start with "WSD . . ." instead of something like "WRY . . . "? Is it in relation to your location and the month + year your call sign was created, or is it just the month and year of when your call sign was created?
