PUTTING UP ROOFTOP ANTENNA

No one here can tell you what your home or any part of your home will support.

all my antennas are put up on old satellite dish mounts.  My tallest antenna is 17’ tall and stands just under 40’ off the ground.    the other 2 are 10’ tall.   We have 80miles mph winds.  I’ve had no problem at all and I get talk simplex over 200 miles away so I don’t feel I need to be taller.  But that’s just my experience.

You would have to have an inspection done on the chimney to see if it would support a 40 foot mast plus antenna. I personally would not do that unless I anchored the mast in several locations and guyed the mast at several points along the mast to at least 3 points around it.

I'm using a 22 foot mast made from 1 5/8" fence post and have it anchored to the house in three spots along with the top guyed at three points. Maybe I over did things, but its better to be safe than sorry.
